Backspace Case Study
Backspace is a cafe and internet gaming hotspot in the downtown Portland area. Featuring a main cafeteria with free wi-fi, Backspace also houses two gaming rooms that offer the latest PC gaming experience for Backspace's patrons. To provide a sufficient level of connectivity to its many customers on a daily basis, Backspace requires a wireless solution to fit their heavy bandwidth demands. Stephouse delivers a power and connectivity-redundant 3-Mbit UP/DOWN signal from its downtown Portland Network Operations Center to a microwave receiver at the Backspace building. Using a modular equipment build, Stephouse can make future cost-effective adjustments to deliver bandwidth and performance needs at Backspace's request. "[Stephouse] has listened to us. [They] realize what kind of business we have. [They] are very responsive to our problems and needs and inventive with solutions more than any other Portland business has been to us." - Joshua Dommermuth, General Manager of Backspace
